1st Ripe Strawberry Of The Season

This beautiful berry is the first of the season from my garden.  It tastes so yummy.  Much better than the crap you get at the store.

Garden Completed

As you can see in the photos we had our awesome neighbour Mike Sundusky from Surf Ontario come over to finish the boarder in our garden.  Thank you so much Mike.  Your hard work was very much appreciated.  I love the way the garden looks now.  All it really needs now is some cooler temperatures and rain for a few days so that the plants can grow a little stronger.

Here you can see the very first strawberry that should be ripe to eat by tomorrow.  Yay!!!

Let The 2012 Growing Season Begin!

This morning I started to plant the garden bright and early before it got too hot out and it took me about 2 hours to get all of the plants in.  This year I'm planting:  peas, carrots, lettuce, spinach, zucchini, broccoli, tomatoes and some marigolds to keep the bugs away.

We got a lawn care company (Exquisite Landscaping) to reshape the garden and add new soil.  If all goes well this should be a great growing season.

The strawberry plants in the front are doing really well.  Within a few days we may have our first red strawberries.  Mmmmm I can't wait!  The hosta plants in the front are really doing great as well.
