Kale

Here is the kale that we are growing in our garden.  I have to admit this variety is not my favourite.  Last year's tasted way better.  I think this would be better being fried with garlic than in a salad raw.  But that's all the garden center had so that's what we have.

Some More Stuff From My Garden - Aug. 15

It's still extremely hot and humid and the plants are suffering.  We've gotten some rain, but mostly in large amounts at once and then nothing.  That's why the zucchinis are oddly shaped.  We have finally gotten two peas.  Neal ate them last night and said that they tasted very good.  The two green Roma tomatoes are because some animal knocked them off the plant.  I am trying to see if they will ripen or not.  The beans keep on coming!  We've got a lot of kale too from one plant.  Now the only thing that isn't doing all that well is the broccoli.  We are getting some but not a lot.

There is some exciting news for next year's garden.  We are expanding!  Last week we got a new fence.  The guys left us some extra wood so we will be able to build another plot.  It's all very exciting.  Photos to come soon.

Tomatoes, Beans, A baby Red Pepper And A Zucchini

Welcome back to my garden blog.  Here are just a few things that have been growing in my garden.  Because of the really hot summer, everything is smaller than normal.

Here is a little zucchini and some cherry tomatoes of various varieties.
Here are some beans that I found while weeding the garden.  I thought that the pants was finished producing beans but apparently I was wrong.  They tasted really good by the way.
This looks like a baby green pepper but the tag actually says it's suppose to be a red pepper.  We shall see as it grows if it turns red.

So far this summer, the weeds seem to be growing better than the garden.  It's just been so hot and humid that the plants are suffering.  Well, that's it for now.
