With our cooler temperatures and lots and lots of rain we now have hundreds of roses on our rose bush. They are absolutely beautiful. Sadly my Queen Ann roses aren't doing as well. We only seem to have four roses on the whole bush. I think it's lifespan is sadly coming to an end.
Here are my two Hosta plants that are just about ready to flower. I think the smaller one needs to be moved as the bigger plant has taken over. Can anyone please tell me how to safely move the plant without killing it?
While watering the plants I noticed that some animal has jumped on the corn stalk. I think it may be finished. But as you can see the plants are doing extremely well. We even have our first cherry tomatoes.
Here are what's left of the cucumber plants. These survivors are growing strong now. I had to put a stick in them to keep them out of the wet soil. I think they are about to flower.
While watering the garden I spotted my very first zucchini
flower and little baby zucchini. Soon we will be overrun with zucchinis. I hope! Let the baking begin.
We also have the start of broccoli as well. All of the plants have
gotten much larger and healthier. I've also grown some cauliflower but I think it must take longer for it to grow. The plants are growing bigger but so far no cauliflower.
The ups and downs of how my garden grows. I'm a novice gardener who just loves to grow things in my little garden.

June 12, 2013 - First Strawberries Of The Season And Other Plants
After many days of rain and cooler temperatures the sun has finally come out and it's warm. My strawberries are very happy. As you can see they are small yet very sweet. It seems that the birds are loving the berries as much as we are. Shoo birds go away!
Here is my patio tomato plant and it's really doing well. The green tomatoes are just starting to turn colour and in a few days we should have ripe tomatoes.
Here is my herb garden. We've been enjoying the sage and parsley. I can't say that I would go out of my way to plant this again but it's nice to have it right outside the kitchen when I need it.
My cucumber plants are hiding under the table right now as we are about to get some nasty weather tonight. These poor plants have taken more abuse than they should so I decided to give them a break and protect them.
As you can see all of the plants have tripled in size with all of the rain and cooler temperatures. It's rather muddy in the garden but everything is doing really well.
This is one of the two hanging baskets. The other one is just as beautiful.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed this entry. Please send me your garden questions and I'd be more than happy to answer them for you. Get out there and get gardening!

June 2, 2013 - The Garden Is Doing Much Better
For many days now it's been very hot and humid with a lot of off and on rain. I guess the plants like this kind of weather because we have tomatoes in June. The patio tomatoes are still green but as you can see they are there.
Here's a photo of our frost damaged cucumbers. I think we have lost three plants here. If I happen to see any cucumbers on sale at the garden centre I will replace them. If not we have what we have. I think we can safely say that the threat of frost has now passed.
In these two photos you can see just how much bigger the plants have become. Even the pea plants have started to come up. It won't be long now before we have fresh snow peas.
Here you can see the first strawberries of the season. It should be a day or two before they ripen. I just hope that the birds don't eat them all.
Here is the very first rose just peeking out from the bush. There are many many more to come. The Queen Ann rose bush is sadly not doing so well. We are down to one branch left.
